Paul K. Smith is the Superintendent of Schools in East Hampton, Connecticut. Paul holds degrees from Boston University, the Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester) and University of Connecticut. Paul began his career teaching music for 15 years in Massachusetts and Connecticut prior to serving as High School Assistant Principal at Killingly High High School (CT) for 4 years and Principal of Bolton High School (CT) for 8 years. Paul's work as Superintendent has focused on developing a culture of compassion as the cornerstone to an ambitious vision of excellence for all children. Paul has presented at the NEASC Annual Conference and the NEASC Showcase of Model Programs. Paul is also a recipient of the NEASC Jacob Ludes III Leadership Award and the NEASC Service Award.  In addition, Paul is active as a clinician with the Connecticut Arts Administrators Association and at the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music.
